The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) is committed to understanding and addressing the region's housing needs. Our Housing Needs Assessment and Housing Strategy project aims to gather valuable insights and develop effective strategies to enhance housing options for all residents.

About the Project

Housing is a shared responsibility. The Government of Alberta manages social and affordable housing programs, with some support from federal funding. The Municipality's role is to work with community partners and the private sector to plan and support new housing projects in the region.

This project is taking a closer look at housing in Wood Buffalo, exploring the unique needs of the different neighbourhoods and communities. We want to understand what's working well, what's missing and where things can be improved.

By engaging with urban and rural residents, local organizations and others with an interest in housing, we can help shape a strategy that reflects the diverse needs of the region.
