Since launching in the summer of 2020, 11 grants have been awarded to businesses in the downtown. To continue supporting the revitalization of our region’s core, the project team will be requesting a program extension from Council later this year.

Feedback and ideas about the downtown were gathered through an online survey, more than 20 open houses, and more than 100 one-to-one meetings with stakeholders.

Staff presented a summary of the program to Council, who voted in favour of it. Staff were directed to return to Council at a future date with a policy for implementing the program.
