Project Background
The municipality engaged with local community members and stakeholders to determine the feasibility of improving the Draper Trail. The Draper Trail was formerly a CN rail line that connects the rural RMWB communities of Draper and Saprae Creek. Assessment of existing conditions for the Draper trail that currently connects Saprae Creek with the designated OHV staging area at the Tom Weber Boat Launch, approximately 13.7 km in length.
The 2019 RMWB Parks Master Plan identified improvements to this trail as a priority for the Draper area.
The goal of this project is to conduct a thorough review of the existing trail to determine the vision for its future use. The project includes both site investigations by consultants and public and stakeholder engagement to determine the recreational needs and desires of the community along this corridor.
This project is for a feasibility study only. Which means, the purpose is to see what types of uses residents would like to see and examine what is possible for the trail.
