Project Introduction Notice

July 7, 2020

Every year the Municipality undertakes dozens of construction projects that are aimed at improving and adding to infrastructure in the region.

While our response as a Municipality to COVID-19 is ongoing, we are also focused oncontinuing the necessary projects this construction season that will improve residents’quality of life and keep our region running. The construction sector undertakes many significant and important projects in communities across Alberta, which is why the Provincial government deemed it an essential service.

The Municipality’s contractor, Clark Builders will be in the Fort McKay Community July 13th to commence the construction of the community’s new firehall on Fort McKay Road. Occupancy is anticipated to be September 2021. Upon completion the community will have a brand new firehall with the necessary equipment and space for fire apparatus and personnel that will help keep residents safe from fire and other emergencies.

SERVICE IMPACT

There will be no impact to services during construction. Please follow your normal routine for services.

NOISE AND VIBRATION MONITORING

There will be noise and some vibration associated with the work. Clark Builders is committed to following all municipal bylaws and regulations and will make every effort to reduce the impacts during construction. We ask for your understanding and patience as work progresses.

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

There will be no major impact to traffic for this project. Traffic will be managed in the construction area for the safety of workers and road users. Access will be restricted in and around the construction zone. Motorist and pedestrians are asked to obey all traffic signs and posted signs in the construction area as well as not cross/move concrete barriers.
