MacKay Crescent

6 months

The Municipality will be upgrading the Water and Storm Sewer Systems.

Work is expected to start May 11, 2020 and construction will commence at the East side of MacKay Crescent and will move West toward Greenwich Lane. 

The contractor will be doing the following:

  • Excavation of roadways to remove existing underground utility lines
  • Replacing underground utility lines with upgraded ones to provide additional capacity to the water and storm systems
  • Repaving the road surface and driveway access as well as new sidewalks
  • Restoration of the construction area with sod and/or other material where require

Road Closure/Detour Information

In order to complete the work in a safe manner, there will be lane and road restrictions in the construction zone.  Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. Driveway access will be kept open; however, the contractor will notify business owners of any temporary restrictions to their driveway access.

Traffic Management

Traffic on MacKay Crescent will be reduced to one lane in the construction zone for the duration of the project. Traffic will be managed in the construction area for the safety of workers, road users and residents. Road users should expect delays and increased traffic on nearby main and side streets. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to obey all traffic signs and posted signs in the construction area as well as not cross/move concrete barriers.

Service Impacts

Some businesses will be placed on a temporary water service, while construction is being done on water mains.  Notice will be provided prior to this happening.

Work Hours

Work to take place from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Monday - Friday with after hours and weekend work as required.

Gregoire Drive

Road Closure Notice

August 13, 2020

Gregoire Drive will be temporarily closed to through traffic between 237 Gregoire Drive and 243 Gregoire Drive to facilitate upgrades to the Sanitary, Storm and Water Systems. It is anticipated that the closure will commence as early as August 15, 2020 and the work is expected to be completed August 19, 2020.

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

Traffic will be managed in the construction area for the safety of workers, road users and residents. Road users should expect delays and increased traffic on nearby main and side streets. Motorist and pedestrians are asked to obey all traffic signs and posted signs in the construction area as well as not cross/move construction barriers. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Parent Way and MacAlpine Crescent

6 months

Sureway Construction, will be returning to the neighbourhood to continue work on the watermain as part of the Sanitary Sewer and Watermain Improvement Project. 

Crews are expected to start mobilizing as early as June 1, 2020, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed October 15, 2020. 

The contractor will be doing the following: 

  • Watermain upgrades along Parent Way 
  • Drainage channel grading along the PUL adjacent to Hwy 63 
  • Sanitary sewer upgrades on MacAlpine Crescent 

Garbage Pick Up

Continue to put out garbage as per regular schedule.  If required, the contractor will remove residential bins to an appropriate location for pick up by the municipality.  Please ensure that bins are labelled with address.

Access to the addresses listed below may be impacted during construction. If you are impacted, an alternative access will be provided.

Parking

Parking in the active work zone is prohibited due to space requirements for construction equipment and materials. If your parked vehicle affects the construction work, it will be moved with no charge to the owner. Should your vehicle be relocated, please call the PULSE line at 780-743-7000 for its location.

Noise and Vibration Monitoring

There will be noise and some vibration associated with the work. The contractor is committed to following all municipal bylaws and regulations and will make every effort to minimize noise and vibrations during construction. 

Work Hours

Gregoire Drive

6 months

H. Wilson Industries Ltd. will be returning to your neighbourhood to complete the road work on Gregoire Drive. Crews are expected to start mobilizing as early as May 19, 2020. Work is expected to start after June 1, 2020 and it is anticipated that the work will be completed July 31, 2020. 

The contractor will be doing the following:

  • Patch repairs and pave a second layer of asphalt
  • Installation of concrete sidewalk
  • Installation of lane markings
  • Restoration of construction area with sod and/or other material where required 

ROAD CLOSURE/DETOUR INFORMATION 

In order to complete the work in a safe manner, there will be lane restrictions in the construction zones. Pedestrian and vehicular access will be maintained to allow access to all businesses and buildings during construction. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. 

DRIVEWAY ACCESS 

Driveway access may be interrupted, this inconvenience will be kept to a maximum of one to two working days. If you are unable to enter your driveway due to construction, please park your vehicle on an adjacent side street in order to accommodate construction activities. The contractor will notify business owners and residents 24-hour in advance of any temporary restrictions to their driveway access.
