Mr. Robert Cree is an Elder, traditional knowledge holder and pipe holder from Fort McMurray No. 468 First Nation. Originally born on the Clearwater River as part of the Paul Cree band, he spent his childhood trapping and living a traditional life. Mr. Cree is a natural leader and he comes by it honestly – his ancestors fought with mistahi-maskwa (Chief Big Bear) and his chapan (4x great grandfather) was the representative for Athabasca at the signing of the Treaty 8 agreement that took place on the banks of the Snye.

Mr. Cree is warm, kind, funny and wise. He is always open to helping, and you may have seen him around town in one of his many volunteer roles. And you better believe that he is full of a lifetime of great stories.
