Evaluate the Downtown Revitalization Incentives Program

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) is looking for feedback on the Downtown Revitalization Incentives Program as administration prepares a proposal for Council to renew the program in 2024.

To date, a total of 265 applications have been approved for funding, with the RMWB committing over $8.9 million in grants. These grants were available to eligible buildings in the downtown area to promote investment and improve the appearance of and strengthen the appeal of the downtown area.

The Municipality is looking to hear from applicants, funding recipients, downtown businesses and community members to help identify how current incentives are working, and where the grant program can improve in the future.

Program highlights

Since 2020, the program has:

  • Generated at least $16.8 million in private investment.
  • Received nearly 400 applications.
  • Supported 120 completed projects to date.
