Update on programs to reduce flood risk in Draper

At the March 14 Council meeting, two proposed programs to reduce flood risk in Draper were presented to Council:

  • Household Flood Risk Reduction Grant program for eligible properties within the community of Draper.
  • Voluntary buyout option(s) for eligible properties within the community of Draper

To ensure an informed, responsible decision is made with the numerous options presented, Council passed this motion:

  • That the matter be referred to Administration to conduct appraisals on properties interested and eligible for the proposed voluntary buyout and report back.

The referral includes the Household Flood Risk Reduction grant.

The Municipality remains committed to supporting Draper residents, improving community resilience and moving this process forward as quickly as possible.

Updated information, including the date these items will be brought back to Council, will be provided directly to Draper residents as they become available. To watch the Council meeting or learn more visit rmwb.ca/council. The Council meeting can also be viewed on the RMWB’s Youtube channel.
