Draper items on July 11 Council Meeting Agenda

21 July 2023

[Update July 6, 2023]

The agenda for the July 11 Council meeting is now available at rmwb.ca/council. You will see that two items on the agenda pertain to Draper: Draper Voluntary Buyout Program and Draper Household Flood Risk Reduction Grant Program Policy.

At the March 14 Council meeting, the following motion was made:

THAT the matter be referred to Administration to conduct appraisals on properties interested and eligible for the proposed voluntary buyout and report back.

Subsequent to this, at the Draper community engagement held on June 22 we heard that residents wished to have these property appraisals available to them. Eligible property owners would have now received correspondence from the Municipality, with information about appraisal value from appraisers Chalifour Denis & Associates, as well as recent municipal property assessment values. Eligible property owners should note that appraisals have been prepared in response to the Council motion for information to be considered with respect to flood accommodation in the Draper community and should not be construed as an offer by the RMWB to purchase or acquire the subject property.

Please visit rmwb.ca/council for the full packet of information for Tuesday’s meeting. You’ll also find additional resources such as the link to watch the meeting virtually, and information on how to register as a delegate if you’d like to present or speak at the meeting.
